When to use it
While boiling sauces, to mix pasta, salads, stews, to saute bacon, vegetables, but also to mix confectionery ingredients.
How clean is our wooden spoon?
With proper care, it will last over time and will survive every culinary adventure (be careful –if there are deep scratches, spikes, cracks, replace).
Wash with soapy water and leave to dry. It can be put in the dishwasher, but in that case it will wear out faster (may even bent). Wash it by hand immediately after use.
Spread oil (olive oil or almond oil) with the help of a towel, fold it in plastic film and leave overnight so that oil will be absorbed by the wood.
To sweep away bad odors, dip the spoon into baking soda and water (2 tablespoons of baking soda in 2 cups of warm water). Leave for 15-20 minutes and rinse well.
Smooth the surface
If it starts to peel or have spikes, we can smooth the wood surface using sandpaper.
