Cheese Pie with feta and Chios Mastic
Traditional Greek cheese pie with rich phyllo, flavored with mastic aroma.
Cheese Pie with feta and Chios Mastic


1 lt milk 6 traditional phyllo 2 ½ tbsp Horio Cow Butter 2 tbsp flour 3 eggs 2 mastic liqueur shots 600 gr Horio Feta or Horio light cheese Pepper ½ tsp ground nutmeg 5 tbsp Horio PDO Kalamata olive oil


  1. Melt Horio Cow Butter in a pot and add flour, stirring with a whisk until golden brown.
  2. Gradually add milk and stir until it becomes a béchamel.
  3. Preheat the oven to 180 C.
  4. Remove cream from heat and add nutmeg, pepper, mastic and Horio feta cheese. Stir until well combined.
  5. Use a pastry brush to oil a baking pan. Spread 3 oiled phyllo in it and pour the filling. Cover with the rest oiled sheets. Slice the pie with a knife and bake for 1 hour.
